Dear Mrs Peterson
Thank you for your letter regarding the parking issues in public car parks.
As an adaptation company we specialist in converting vehicles for wheelchair access both for the driver and passenger. I can confirm that in recent years more vehicles are now having Side access aswell as rear access, this is possibly due to the fact that more seats are required to accommodate families. Such vehicles now include the Kia Sedona, VW Caravelle, Chrysler Voyager, some MB Sprinters – please see the attached file for some pictures.
With Side Accessible vehicle they require larger car parking spaces to allow the ramp to be deployed along with room to manoeuvre the wheelchair onto the ramp.
